Lay and Professional Organisations

Below you can find links for a number of organisations concerned with headaches and migraine. Most of these are based in the UK, but not all.

 
The British Association for the Study of Headache,  a national organisation focused on raising the profile of headache and its surrounding issues.

Organisation for the Understanding of Cluster Headache, an organisation focused on raising public awareness of Cluster Headaches, and offering support and guidance to sufferers. For more information on the condition see our Cluster Headache factsheet.

The Migraine Trust, a charity which supports sufferers, educates healthcare professionals and funds research into migraine and other headaches.

Migraine Action, another migraine charity again supporting sufferers, education and research and providing a designated helpline.

The International Headache Society, a world-wide organisation for those with a professional commitment to headache, publishes the international headache journal 'Cephalalgia.'

Headache UK, an alliance of five organisations concerned with headaches

The World Headache Alliance, a group of around 40 national headache organisations from around the world, seeking to educate and support whilst raising public awareness of headache issues. 

Hughes Syndrome Foundation,  a charitable foundation for a relatively recently discovered syndrome, commonly causing headaches and migraines.
